ELKHART — After years of anticipation and planning, Linton’s Enchanted Gardens, 315 C.R. 17, Elkhart took delivery recently of its new 18-passenger train. The train was built especially for Linton’s by a firm located in Georgia. The train features a locomotive engine, two passenger cars, and a red caboose.
The train, which will operate daily between April and December (weather permitting) will offer Linton’s guests a 10- to 15-minute narrated tour around the 9-acre facility. Guests can board at the “Train Depot” in the Garden Centre and travel around the facility past display gardens, Lake Linton, through a tunnel before returning to the Train Depot. Tickets are $4 per person and an unrestricted season pass is $9.99.
In addition to daily rides, private birthday party packages may be booked. The package includes a stop at Linton’s Enchanted Gardens petting zoo and an engineer hat, train whistle and scarf for the birthday child. The train will also be used for Linton’s annual special events that include the Easter Eggspress, the Pumpkin Patch Express and the Polar Express.
Linton’s also plans to feature the new train in local parades and festivals. If you would like more information about Linton’s Enchanted Railroad, contact Jennifer Keen at 574-293-9699 or via email at email@example.com.
