---- — GOSHEN — A new photography studio recently opened in downtown Goshen.
Impulse Imagery has taken up residence on the second floor of 132 S. Main St., above Shutterhugs.
Owner Nicole Hardy, who is a photographer and a graphic designer, said she wants her studio to stand out from the myriad of others in the area. To do that, she’s put a new twist on the traditional studio.
At her grand opening on March 7, Hardy didn’t just open up her studio, she had a Girls Day Out event, which included spray-on tanning, nails, make up and massages along with a glamour photo shoot.
On Saturday, she shot Easter photos with real bunnies and she’s offering an open portrait night during First Fridays.
“I do more to stand out,” she said. “And I like to do more fun stuff using cool props.”
Hardy’s not new to the business. For the past four years, she has been doing on-site photography. Her work includes family portraits, babies, children, seniors, weddings, business head shots, commercial products and modeling events.
She’d also like to branch out to picture parties. The concept is the same as a home party style, where the host invites friends over to his or her house for demonstration of a product that is offered for sale. The hostess would be able to earn points for a free photo package, Hardy said.
Another idea Hardy has is to offer photo workshops, including how to use a camera or how to use PhotoShop.
Photos are by appointment only. To schedule a photo shoot, call Hardy at 574-215-1060. Her website is ImpulseImagery.com.
