---- — Global Caravan Technologies Inc. has released an artist’s concept drawing of a recreational vehicle that will feature carbon fiber in its construction.

According to the Speedway, Ind., company, its CR-1 Carbon RV will feature extensive CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) technology, and is designed with global collaborations.

The concept vehicle has a “flush” and integrated body.

GCT’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Product Architect Charles Hoefer said the CR Series will also have a tall and “slippery”exterior design.

“We approached the development of the CR Series with an absolute premium on interior space. We have really pushed the envelope in taking a new design to market, which features a modern exterior, yet brilliantly spacious interior.”

The CR Series, according to the company, achieves excellent aerodynamics through new technologies that reduce drag, lower exterior height and lower center of gravity.

GCT’s first product launch, the CR-1 Carbon travel trailer, will have a floorplan with tall ceilings and new technologies for luxury RV’ers, at an overall length of 35 feet 3 inches.

Harrison Ding, chairman and president for GCT, said the CR-1 Carbon’s design has been a global undertaking.

“We are proud to say that we engaged designers from Asia to the heart of the U.S. auto industry in Detroit. In the mix were luxury RV enthusiasts, who helped point us in the right direction regarding new features and content.”

The company moved the product unveiling from this month to the first quarter of 2014.
