Two will oversee Chassix expansion
Chassix, a supplier of casting and machining solutions for the automotive industry, has hired Bill Pittman as human resources manager and Jack Olson as operations manager for its Bristol operation.
Pittman and Olson will be responsible for managing the plant’s expanding manufacturing capabilities, which include the production of rear steering knuckles and lower control arms, both of which are featured on the Ford Fusion. About 130 jobs will be added during the expansion this year, according to company officials.
“Chassix continues to develop product technology and grow production capacity to better support the needs of auto manufacturers around the world,” said Bob Remenar, president and chief executive officer of Chassix. “Ensuring that we have the proper skill sets at the management level is of the utmost importance in continuing to increase production in Bristol. It takes a high level of organization and teamwork to introduce a new product into a pre-existing manufacturing system. Bill and Jack will spearhead efforts to bolster our team and execute these programs as well as our continued expansion in Bristol.”
Pittman will be responsible for all human resources functions within the Bristol plant. Olson will oversee all casting and machining operations and will coordinate new product line operations resulting from the expansion. Pittman and Olson will report to Bristol Plant Manager Doug Forbes.
Pittman recently served as the regional human resources manager at Product Development Corp.
Olson has a background in logistics operations management and finance. Previously, he was a senior consultant at the management consulting firm DeWolff, Boberg & Associates. His prior experience includes owning a private accounting practice for five years, serving as project manager at USCO Logistics for three years and working in plant operations at Federal Express for more than 17 years.
