Indiana Association of Realtors to meet locally

Elkhart County has been chosen as the location for the upcoming Indiana Association of Realtors annual leadership meetings.

Over the years, the meeting has been held in various locations throughout the state as determined by the president of the Indiana Association of Realtors.

Elkhart County Board of Realtors state director Jeff Donovan submitted the bid to serve as host in order to showcase Elkhart County.

Realtors who attend the meetings will spend three days in Elkhart County to set governance policy, meet with local officials to discuss the economic trends in Elkhart County, tour a local manufacturing plant and network with colleagues locally and from around the state.

Elkhart County Board of Realtors president Karen Smith said, “We are excited to serve as host and hope to increase awareness of what Elkhart County contributes toward the health of our state economy. Our local board is working hard to promote our county and do whatever we can to get the word out that Elkhart County is a great place to live.

“Recently we made the decision to invest in the Elkhart County Economic Development Corp. as a way to strengthen our message that now is a great time to buy real estate in Elkhart County. Prices are stable, interest rates are historically low, and Elkhart County is working hard to maintain and attract employment into the area.”

Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury will be the main location for lodging for the three-day meeting.

Business meetings and events will take place at the Essenhaus Conference Center and other locations through the county.
