Bake sale benefits food bank

— GOSHEN — The staff members of Greencroft Goshen and Greencroft Communities held a Holiday Benefit Bake Sale on Wednesday, Nov. 21, with the proceeds donated to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. The bake sale items were donated by staff members and purchased by both staff and residents.

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana has served Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph counties since 1993 and is a member of Feeding America, Feeding Indiana’s Hungry (FIsH) and United Way. www.feedindiana.org

Carey Ettinger, the Food Service Pantry Manager at Greencroft Goshen and chair of the Staff Human Resources Committee, which plans special activities for team members, reported that the grand total raised from the bake sale and a raffle for several gift baskets was $1,374.25.

Ettinger expressed her appreciation for the enormous amount of donated baked items. “We would also like to thank all the staff and residents who supported the sale and purchased baked items and raffle tickets,” she said. “The bake sale was a huge success.”

Greencroft Goshen, an affiliate community of Greencroft Communities, serves nearly 1,100 residents in a continuum of care from independent living to assisted living to skilled nursing care as well as adult day services for those with Alzheimer’s and related dementia and a variety of therapy and rehabilitation services. www.greencroft.org
