Manufacturers create special trailer for LoveWay

MIDDLEBURY — LoveWay recently received a donation stemming from a collaboration between many local manufacturing companies.

This week the therapeutic equestrian center took ownership of a 2012 Lakota Horse Trailer. According to LoveWay staff, the project began with Brent Becker of Mishawaka Sheet Metal and his wife Shelley, an instructor at LoveWay.  Becker contacted Lakota to share his thoughts on manufacturers uniting to donate their products to produce a trailer for the center.  The idea was taken up by Lakota as owner  George Thomas took the lead in making the donation a reality. He encouraged his vendors to donate the materials needed for the trailer.

Contributors to the trailer donation include:  Lippert Components Inc., Mishawaka Sheet Metal, Tredit Tires, Performance Graphics/Patrick Industries, Postle Distributing and Shipshewana Harness and Supplies.

According to the organization’s staff, the horse trailer makes it possible for LoveWay to transport horses needing off-site veterinary care, pick up and deliver new and retiring horses and take ponies on field trips to area schools and nursing homes, among other expected uses of the trailer.

LoveWay Inc. There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
