Three hurt in Ind. 119 collision

GOSHEN — Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The mishap took place at Ind. 119 and C.R. 13, the same intersection were eight people were hurt in a collision earlier that day.

Elkhart County police reported that a 2007 Chevrolet HHR driven by Elizabeth Maller, 17, South Bend, collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Annette Smeltzer, 55, Wakarusa. The crash caused Smeltzer’s vehicle to go off the south side of the road and overturn.

Maller suffered chest pain as a result of the crash, and Smeltzer had neck pain. A passenger in the Smeltzer vehicle, Sherry Anglemyer, 44, Wakarusa, suffered pain to her neck, right shoulder and left rib cage. Both drivers and Anglemyer were transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.

Police said Maller was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
