Easter egg hunts this weekend

The following is a list of Easter-related activites and hunts provided to The Goshen News:

GOSHEN

• Grace Community Church, Goshen, will host a 30,000-egg community Easter egg hunt for children ages 1 to sixth grade and The Great GumDrop for children in seventh through 12th grades on Easter Sunday. Registration for both of these events runs from 12:45 to 1:25 p.m. The hunt and drop will begin at 1:30 p.m. Grace is located at 20076 C.R. 36, Goshen.

Prizes for the younger children include boys and girls bicycles, candy, wagons and gift cards.

Prizes for the older children include iPods, gift cards, cash and gum. The gum and prizes will be dropped from a 100-foot tall fire ladder truck.

• Goshen Christian Church, 2133 Berkey Ave., Goshen, will host an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday. The hunt is for children up to 10 years of age.

NEW PARIS

Children in sixth grade and younger who attend school in the Fairfield Community School Corporation are invited to participate in an Easter egg hunt Saturday at the New Paris Elementary School. Children will gather outside for instructions and the egg hunt will start at 9 a.m. In case of bad weather all activities will take place in the gym.

All in attendance will be given a treat and prizes for winners include Easter baskets, cash prizes and tricycles/bicycles for various age groups. The Easter egg hunt is sponsored each year by members of the New Paris Lions Club.        

MILLERSBURG

The Millersburg Lions Club will sponsor its annual community Easter egg hunt rain or shine at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The hunt will take place at Millersburg Elementary School. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m.

Childrens ages 1 to 12 may participate in six age divisions. Children can register to win one of seven door prizes, which includes bicycles.

Five prizes will be awarded for each age group. There will be 6,000 eggs stuffed with candy, plus some of the eggs will contain dollar coins (150 of them). The coins were donated by Interra Credit Union.

All area children are invited to attend.

WAKARUSA

The Wakarusa Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Easter egg hunt for children ages 1 to 8 at Memorial Park, behind the elementary school Saturday. The hunt will start at 10 a.m.

LAGRANGE

There will be a community Easter egg hunt at Life Care Center of LaGrange Friday at 3 p.m. The Easter bunny will be there to take photos with families. Each family will receive one free photo. People can start arriving at 2 p.m. and participants should take their own baskets.

The finders of two golden eggs will each win a new bicycle.

Life Care Center of LaGrange is located at 0770 N. C.R. 75 East, LaGrange.

He was a physical education and health teacher in the Baugo Community Schools for 18 years and head softball coach at Jimtown High School for 15 seasons.   • Huron Street residents under boil order

    Tuesday morning, Goshen water crews shut down the water main on Huron Street to replace a broken fire hydrant.
    The Indiana Department of Environmental Management requires the Water Utility to issue a boil water order for the affected area, which is Huron Street from West Lincoln to Pike Street.
