Club, local businesses help kids get back to school

THE GOSHEN NEWS

— GOSHEN — The 13th annual BAK-PAK-A-KID program donation day will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, the public can drop off school supply donations at Walmart Supercenter on the south side of Goshen or, with a donation, receive a free car wash from Pride’s Express Car Wash on U.S. 33 South.

Donations are being accepted at the Club at 306 Crescent St. any time from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this week.

Monetary donations are being accepted as well. Send donations to the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen, P.O. Box 614, Goshen, IN 46527.

The program, through the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen, serves both club members and Goshen area children.

Sign up for backpacks

Parents may sign up Boys & Girls Club members for backpacks all week at the club from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Backpacks will be handed out Aug. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. for club members.

Parents of non-members may sign up the day of the handout on Aug. 7 and can pick up their backpacks from 4 to 7 p.m.

The BAK-PAK-A-Kid program is possible through the BAK-PAK-A-Kid committee, Travis Stewart of Pride’s Express Car Wash, Jim Lengerich of Walmart Supercenter and by  donations from the Goshen community.
