GOSHEN — 3:54 P.M. UPDATE - Interra Credit Union's main office in Goshen was evacuated just before 2 p.m. Other Goshen locations remain open with limited capability.
Members currently don't have access to office, mobile and phone banking.
They may also experience limitations on ATM and debit transactions according to a credit union spokesperson.
Members should visit Interra's Facebook page for periodic updates.
2:10 P.M. UPDATE - Third Street between Linocln and Main streets has been closed due to the gas leak.
Goshen News Photographer Sam Housholder spoke with a city engineer who said crews were digging to put in fiberoptic cable when a gas line was struck earlier today.
While crews work to stop the leak, power in that area has been shut off.
The closure of Third Street has caused significant traffic congestion along Main Street Tuesday afternoon.
1:45 - Crews are responding in the alley between Second and Third streets along Washington Street in downtown Goshen for a gas leak.
Calls were first made to Elkhart County emergency dispatchers around 11:30 a.m. today.
According to a firefighter at the scene of the leak, first repsonders plan on evacuating everyone within 1,000 feet of any direction of the gas leak.
