Evacuation in progress in downtown Goshen

GOSHEN — Part of Goshen’s downtown area is being evacuated for the second time in a week.

Initial reports of natural gas leak in the 200 block of West Washington Street were made around 12:15 p.m. today. That’s the same area where a gas line rupture took place Tuesday.

Goshen firefighters at the scene indicated homes and businesses within 500 to 1,000 feet of the 200 block of West Washington were being evacuated. Interra Credit Union is one of the affected businesses.

Third Street traffic was shut down at Lincoln Avenue, and Second Street at Lincoln.

The Goshen News will provide updates on the situation as they become available.
