Rep. Walorski to receive ‘Spine Award’

State Rep. Rebecca Kubacki announced U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski to be the recipient of the fourth annual Spine Award.

On Aug. 22 the fourth annual Spine Award Dinner will be held at the newly renovated Oakwood Inn’s Hilltop Conference Center in Syracuse. Tickets are $80 per person, $50 for young Republicans (40 years old or younger).

Reservations may be made by calling 574-457-4458. Dane Miller and Jean Northenor will serve as honorary chairmen.  

Walorski was elected to office in 2012 and serves on the House Armed Services, Budget and Veteran’s Affairs committees.  

Previous recipients of the Spine Award have been former Gov. Mitch Daniels, Gov. Mike Pence and the Grossinckle family.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
