DAYTON, Ohio — Percussionists from Goshen High School have triumphed in preliminary competition at the Winter Guard International Percussion World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

GHS band director Tom Cox reported that local musicians came in first out of 18 schools in Open Concert Class competition today. Judges gave the Goshen group a rating of 93.825. The Open Concert Class finals are scheduled for Friday.

Overall WGI contests continue through Saturday.
