— INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — At least two incumbent Indiana legislators have lost their re-election bids in the Republican primary.
Rep. Rebecca Kubacki of Syracuse and Rep. Kathy Heuer of Columbia City both lost to challengers who argued they weren't conservative enough, including their against the proposed state constitutional gay marriage ban.
Kubacki was defeated by Curt Nisly of Goshen. He's the husband of the Elkhart County Republican chairwoman and operator of a computer tech firm.
Heuer lost to tea party conservative Christopher Judy, a General Motors worker from Fort Wayne.
