The Indiana Chapter of Americans for Prosperity will host a candidate forum in Elkhart tonight for candidates seeking the Republican nomination to Indiana House District 48. The forum is free, open to public, and will be held at 7p.m. at Christiana Creek Country Club.
“This is a great opportunity for voters to meet their candidates and hear how they feel about important issues facing all Hoosiers,” said Chase Downham, the Indiana State Director of Americans for Prosperity.
Americans for Prosperity officials said the group is a non-profit organization that advocates for the principles of economic freedom, including limited government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility. Recently, AFP supported Gov. Mike Pence’s tax cut, supporting business personal property tax reform and opposing the billion dollar Indianapolis mass transit proposal.
Jesse Bohannon, Adam Bujalski and Doug Miller are seeking the Republican nomination and have all agreed to participate in the event. For more information or to register, visit AFPIndiana.org.
House District 48 is located in northern Elkhart County and includes all of Cleveland, Osolo and Washington townships and a portion of northwestern Concord Township. The seat is currently held by Rep. Tim Neese, who is stepping down after 12 years as a state representative.
