WEATHER UPDATE: Snow developing -- twice

Areas affected: LA PORTE-ST. JOSEPH IN-ELKHART-BERRIEN-CASS MI-ST. JOSEPH MI-

INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...MICHIGAN CITY...LA PORTE...SOUTH BEND...

MISHAWAKA...ELKHART...GOSHEN...NILES...BENTON HARBOR...ST. JOSEPH...

BUCHANAN...DOWAGIAC...CASSOPOLIS...STURGIS...THREE RIVERS

 

Hazardous weather outlook for portions of northern Indiana and southwest Lower Michigan.

Today and tonight:

Snow will develop this evening and persist overnight. Around 2 inches of accumulation is expected by early Saturday.

Saturday through Thursday:

Additional accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are possible Saturday. There is also a chance that sleet or freezing rain may mix with the snow at times on Saturday, which would reduce total snow accumulations.

There is potential for another winter storm to impact the area Tuesday through Tuesday night with heavy snow.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
