— ELKHART — Indiana State Police say a woman might have been in her vehicle for up to 12 hours before it was found crashed into a wooded area.
State police say the woman's husband called Thursday night, saying she hadn't come home and that she wasn't answering her cellphone.
WSBT-TV reports police were able to track her cellphone signal to near the Elkhart Municipal Airport. Troopers spotted her vehicle off the road, hidden by heavy brush.
The woman was taken to a hospital with what police said was a forehead cut and some confusion.
Trooper John Dupont says the woman was fortunate to be found because the vehicle couldn't be seen from the road about 10 miles east of South Bend.
Other information about the woman wasn't immediately released.
