Ice slices through windshield, strikes driver

Warsaw man suffers face lacerations, possible concussion

— A Warsaw man was injured when a sheet of snow and ice smashed through the front window of his vehicle while driving on U.S. 6 near New Paris late Wednesday morning.

According to Elkhart County police, Jon Hollon, 38, Warsaw, was driving his vehicle east on U.S. 6, just east of C.R. 35, at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday when a sheet of snow and ice fell from a passing semi traveling west on U.S. 6. The sheet of snow/ice reportedly broke through the front window of his vehicle, striking Hollon in the face and body.

Hollon was transported to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment of lacerations to the face and a possible concussion.

No citations were issued as a result of the incident.
