Goshen, Concord bands sweep awards

ELKHART — The Goshen and Concord high school bands made clean sweeps in their divisions Saturday night in the inaugural Elkhart Memorial band invitational.

Concord participated in Class B and won the caption awards for best visuals, best music and best general effect. Goshen won the same awards in Class A competition. Each band finished first in their divisions.

Goshen finished ahead of a Penn High School band with a history of success. Concord finished ahead of Munster High School in second place and Northridge High School in third place.

All the band will participate in regional competitions next Saturday.

The Goshen News will publish an article and photos on the band competitions from Saturday in Monday’s edition.
