Piracy

Wednesday is “Talk Like a Pirate Day” at the Milford library. Every patron visiting the library that day will be given a “gold doubloon.”

Preschool Story Time

Preschool Story Time sessions will begin Sept. 26 at 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. or Thursday evenings at 7 starting Sept.  27. The first theme will be “Colors of Fall.” Miss Julie will be reading the book “Orange: Seeing Orange All Around Us, by Sarah L. Schuette and several other stories about fall colors.” Children will go on a scavenger hunt, make a craft and eat a snack.

Science club


The Super Science Saturday Club will begin its 2012-2013 season with an off-site rocket launch this coming Saturday. Children will meet at the Library at 10 a.m. to learn rocket design basics and build their own model rockets. Transportation to the launch site will need to be provided by a parent or guardian.

This program for students in grades one through five is led by Jim Myers.

This month’s classic movie is “Young Man With a Horn.” It will be shown on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. Snacks and a brief discussion will follow the film.

The “Girls Only” Book Club starts Oct. 3. It will meet every Wednesday for seven weeks from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the library. Girls in grades three to five are invited to participate. Registration is under way.

He was a physical education and health teacher in the Baugo Community Schools for 18 years and head softball coach at Jimtown High School for 15 seasons. Under his direction, Jimtown earned five Northern State Conference championships, five sectional titles and two regional titles and his teams compiled an overall record of 285-133-1.

    Tuesday morning, Goshen water crews shut down the water main on Huron Street to replace a broken fire hydrant.
