LIBRARY NEWS: Public invited to ‘Talk’

The public is invited to the library this spring for the “Let’s Talk About It” lecture/book discussion series. The theme is “Serendipity.”

Judith Davis will lecture on “House of Spirits” by Isabel Allende, Pat Furlong with lecture on “The Killer Angels” by Michael Shaara, and Leonard Beechy will lecture on “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Movie

The public is invited to the library April 3 at 10 a.m. to the animated adventure, “Rise of the Guardians.”

Trip to Paris

Library patrons are invited to enter for a chance to win a trip Paris this fall with author Cara Black to trace the footsteps of her celebrated P.I. Aimee Leduc. Stop by the library to pick up an entry form.

Closed for Easter


The library will be closed for the Easter holiday Sunday. However, the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Good Friday.

Mother Goose Mondays

Mother Goods Mondays sessions take place from 10:30 to 11 a.m. through May 20.

The program features learning activities geared for babies from birth through age 2 who attend with their parent or caregiver. Rhymes, stories, songs and playtime are planned.  No advance registration is required, and participants can attend as many sessions at they like.

Storytime Express

Storytime Express will not meet this week due to spring break.

Crafty Bandits

The Crafty Bandits group will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the Teen Space located on the main floor. Library staffers supply the craft materials, while “Bandits” supply the creativity. This program is open to young people in grades six through 12. Sign up for the program at the front desk, or by calling 574-533-9531.
