NorthWood FFA members celebrate accomplishments

NAPPANEE — On Sunday, members of the NorthWood FFA had their annual banquet to honor the past year’s accomplishments. President Ryan Kelly led the opening ceremonies.

Individual Chapter officers presented members with their Greenhand Degree for first-year members and the Chapter Degrees for second-year members. Students in their senior year were also recognized for their involvement and presented with gifts.

The 2012-2013 Star Greenhand Degree was presented to freshman Mark Jarvis.

After the closing ceremonies, members and guests were invited to see the 1952 John Deere 40 the Tractor Restoration Team restored for the Chevron Delo National Tractor Restoration Competition.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
