Ruthmere to host Children’s Summer Garden Party

ELKHART — Ruthmere Museum will present its annual Children’s Summer Garden Party from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday on the museum grounds located at 302 E. Beardsley Ave. This year’s theme is “Who Wants Candy?” and features activities and games incorporating nostalgic sweets.

The garden party will also host a magic show by Steve Vaught at 1:30 p.m. and will conclude with a brief children’s concert by musician Peter Hochstedler.  This free event is sponsored by 1st Source Bank. Reservations are requested. For reservations, call 574-264-0330 and ask for Jennifer Johns.

Guests may visit Ruthmere’s 30-by-30-foot quilt garden featuring the Fleur-De-Lis design.

Guided tours of the mansion will be available on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission fees apply: adults $10 and students $4. Children 5 and younger can enter free with an adult and Ruthmere members are admitted free.
