Bristol motorcyclist dies from crash injuries

MIDDLEBURY — Dale Greensides, 32, Bristol, the driver of a motorcycle involved in a crash with an automobile Sunday north of Middlebury, died today at 11:25 a.m.

St. Joseph County Coroner Randy Magdalinski said Greensides died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The crash occurred around 12:34 p.m. Sunday on C.R. 2, west of Ind. 13. Elkhart County police said Sasha Lindwedel, 23, Elkhart, was driving west in a 2012 Ford Focus. Lindwedel turned south into a private drive and into the path of an eastbound 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Greensides. The vehicles collided.

Greensides was ejected from the motorcycle. Lindwedel’s Ford Focus spun several times before striking a third vehicle that was parked in the private drive.

Greensides was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend by Medflight for treatment of severe head injuries.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department’s Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate the collision. Police said Greensides was not wearing a helmet.
