HOLIDAY AT THE MILL: Bonneyville decorated, ready Saturday event

BRISTOL — The Elkhart County Parks is offering a “Holiday at the Mill” on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The public is invited to Bonneyville Mill and the One Room School House to see its decorations for the holiday season, see cornmeal being ground and get a chance to purchase or make crafts.

Visitors can taste samples of cookies made with Bonneyville whole-wheat flour, as well as purchase their own flour and cornmeal for healthy cooking this holiday season.

Children will be able to make handmade Christmas ornaments, visit with Santa, and experience the One Room School House also decorated for the season.

At 11 a.m., Stanger Trees will present a program in the mill barn on how to choose the best holiday tree.

Admission to the event is free, but participants should dress for the weather. In addition, a 10 percent discount will be offered in the gift shop for those unique stocking stuffers. This will also be the last chance to purchase flour and cornmeal (while supplies last) until next May when the mill re-opens.

Bonneyville is operated by the Elkhart County Parks and is located 53373 C.R. 131 in Bristol.  For more information, call 574-535-6458 or visit www.elkhartcountyparks.org.
