NAPPANEE — A semi sideswiped a horse-drawn buggy along U.S. 6, east of C.R. 23, injuring a Nappanee man at 9:03 p.m. Monday.
According to Elkhart County Ptl. Casey Polachek, a 2000 Volvo semi driven by Morad Mohammed, 27, Palos Hills, Ill., was westbound on U.S. 6, when it sideswiped a horse-drawn buggy while attempting to pass the buggy on the left. The buggy, driven by Karle E. Miller, 62, Nappanee, rolled off the north side of the road.
Miller suffered lacerations to his head and suffered neck pain. He was taken to IU Health Goshen Hospital for treatment.
Mohammed was cited for improper passing.
