Crash victim in critical condition


SYRACUSE — A Goshen man remained hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday after an automobile crash early Monday.

Corey Stump, 31, suffered severe head trauma in the crash, according to Elkhart County police. Police said Stump was the driver of a Honda Civic that was traveling north on C.R. 29, just north of C.R. 52, when it went off the west side of the road and struck a utility pole around 1:30 a.m.

Stump was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment. Hospital staffers said Tuesday afternoon that Stump was in critical condition.

Two passengers in the automobile suffered pain and were transported to IU Health Goshen for treatment. The passengers were Erica Hayden, 27, Goshen, and Randall Warren Sr., 43, Nappanee.
