Goshen Varsity Winter Guard places 12th

In a field of 18 competitors from around the state, the Goshen Varsity Winter Guard under the direction of Takesha Stoll placed 12th in A Class State Finals at Center Grove High School in Greenwood Saturday.

This is fifth year in a row that the varsity guard has earned a trip to state competition. The Guard performed to “Suitcases”, a contemporary Christian song by Dara Maclean.

During winter guard invitationals, the Goshen varsity consistently placed in the top five and earned their highest score of the season the week before preliminary competition for the state finals.

Although the guard is typically made up of high school students, this year’s team included two eighth graders and one third grader.
