Disaster emergency declaration ends at 6 tonight for Elkhart County

THE GOSHEN NEWS

GOSHEN — The disaster emergency declaration for Elkhart County expires today at 6 p.m.

Motorists are advised by county officials that even though road conditions are improving, caution should still be used as many of the roads are covered in snow and ice. Drivers should allow extra time to reach their destinations, drive slowly and be prepared for areas that are slick or limited to one lane due to blowing snow.

Elkhart County Highway crews continue to clear roads and subdivision streets, officials said. Motorists are asked to help plow drivers by driving cautiously, reducing their speeds and limiting their travel to essential tasks.
