Firefighters are shown at the scene of a house fire on Franklin Street off U.S. 33 in Benton Tuesday morning. The fire, spotted by a passerby, was called in around 9 a.m. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 9:38 a.m. Benton Township Fire Chief Jason Dunlap said there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and no one was home. "We just did a search (of the residence)," Dunlap said at the scene. "Nobody was found at this time." In addition to Benton units, firefighters from Clinton Township, New Paris and Syracuse responded to the blaze.
